Michael Madrid, International Sports Director for USA TODAY Sports Images, formerly a Senior Photo Editor at USA TODAY, has worked for the organization since 1996.
Madrid’s assignments have taken him across the country and around the globe, providing a tremendous learning experience and an opportunity to work with amazingly talented colleagues. From natural disasters and news events to Olympic Games and other major sporting events, it’s been a ton of work and more fun than one should be allowed while working – hopefully sharing moments of time, place and emotion with readers and viewers all over.
Madrid is based in Colorado with his talented wife. He enjoys spending his free time making photographs of Colorado’s magnificent and diverse environment and its wild inhabitants.
